Melodie nelle stazioni Giapponesi

Una delle cose che si nota subito quando si arriva per la prima volta in Giappone, come ogni singola stazione e linea ferroviaria abbia una propria melodia ogni volta che un treno arriva. A quanto pare uno dei modi per far rilassare i pendolari, considerato anche che prendere il treno nelle ore di punta non è proprio una gioia. Ad ogni modo, le compagnie ferroviarie, specialmente la JR (un delle più compagnie ferroviarie in Giappone), hanno un forte merchandising, e tra i gadget in commercio vi sono proprio dei portachiavi con delle melodie delle stazioni. Mediamente le persone associano il Giappone al sumo, alle scolarette in gonnella o alle geishe, ma quando si ha modo di vivere in un posto i ricordi sono legati anche a piccole cose, specialmente queste cose puoi trovarle soltanto nel posto in questione. Nel mio caso vi è ad esempio il suono (24 ore non stop) delle Cicale Giapponesi (Semi) che indicano l'arrivo della primavera e l'avvicinarsi dell'estate. Comunque, tutta questa papella per dirvi che ho trovato un sito molto carino dove potrete ascoltare tutte le melodie delle stazioni Giapponesi, il sito si chiama Sound of Station. Di sicuro la melodia della Yamanote line sarà la più gettonata.

Japanese train station jingles

One of the things you will soon notice when you are for the first time in Japan, is that avery train station has its own melody, played everytime a train arrives. It is apparently a way to let the travellers avoid to rush and feel relaxed somehow. Anyway, Japanese railway companies, and especially JR, sell keychains with the train station melodies and those are quite popular among turists.
Average western people remembers Japan when they see mangas, high technology, samurai movies, but when you had the chance to live in a place then you will remember it by little things you can see only there. For example in my case, the sound (noise) of Japanese cicada (semi) remembers me of Japan in summer season. Anyways, Japanese station melodies are only in Japan and I am keeping talking only to tell you that I found a nice website where you can find all those jingles. The site is called Sound of Station and I am sure that Yamanote line melody will be very popular among the people that visited Japan.

日本の駅のメロディー聞こえる時に少し懐かしいです。最近は面白いウェブサイトを見つけた。そのウェブで日本の駅のメロディー聞く事が出来ます。サイトはSound of Stationです。私のiphoneの着メロで山手線のメロディー使っています。

IPhone e studio del Giapponese (2)

Circa due anni fa avevo mostrato in un altro post la possibilità di utilizzare l'iPhone nell'apprendimento della lingua Giapponese. Allora avevo mostrato un dizionario ed un programma per lo studio dei kanji.
Di recente ho invece re-installato sul mio iPhone un software secondo me utilissimo e comodo per lo studio dei verbi Giapponesi. Il programma si chiama katsuyo ed una interfaccia molto intuitiva che permette con molta facilità di coniugare i verbi Giapponesi. Katsuyo include inoltre delle funzionalità di ricerca sia in Giapponese che in altre lingue (l'Italiano non è supportato per ora).
Dulcis in fundo, il programma è gratuito (quando lo comprai io non lo era e non credo lo resterà a lungo) e non dovete fare altro che installarlo ed utilizzarlo.

Learning Japanese Language using IPhone

As been already 2 years since I wrote about useful software in the iPhone for studying Japanese language. In that post I shown you a Japanese language dictionary and a tool for studying kanji symbols.
Recently I re-installed a software called katsuyo. Katsuyo is a very useful tool to conjugate Japanese verbs. It comes with a very neat and easy to use user interface and I am sure will be useful to all of you who is studying Japanese or to people that (like me) do not remember sometimes how to conjugate a given verb. The software also comes with a search function and other smaller interesting functions.
To conclude, I inform you that the software is free (at the time when I installed the first time it was not and I am not sure it will be free for long) so that you do not have any reason not to try it. I hope it will be useful to some of you...

二年前はIPhoneで日本語を勉強するのソフトウェアで書きました。そのポストで電磁自称と漢字の勉強のためにのソフトウェアで書いてあります。今回はiPhone［とiPod］の動詞の共役のソフトウェアの事に書いています。
ソフトウェアの名前はかつよです。そのソフトウェアのインターフェースは本当にユーザーフレンドリーですから動詞の共役する事が本当に簡単です。
ざひ日本人がそのソフトウェアはいりませんです。でもかつよはフリーですからやって見て下さい。

iPhone e studio del Giapponese

Questa settimana ho comprato l' iPhone. Uno dei motivi per i quali l' ho comprato è stato il fatto che nell' application store ci sono davvero tante applicazioni gratuite molto utili per lo studio della lingua Giapponese. Nel mio caso, ho scaricato due dizionari ed una applicazioni per le flashcard dei kanji.
Una flashcard (in questo caso di kanji Giapponese) è una scheda (grande poco meno di una carta da poker) che contiene un kanji e ne spiega i significati, la pronuncia e soprattutto spiega come disegnarlo.
Tra le migliori flash-card per lo studio dei kanji ci sono quelle prodotte da white-rabbit-press ed il set con le flash card con i kanji per il JPTL4 costa attorno ai 22€.
Di seguito elenco le tre applicazioni (ricordo che ce ne sono davvero tante sia gratuite che a pagamento) che sto utilizzando nell' iphone.
1) Kotoba: è un dizionario che utilizza il dizionari del progetto JMdict, un progetto open source che ha come obbiettivo la creazione di dizionari per la ligua Giapponese. Kotoba (ことば) permette la ricerca veloce ed in locale di termini Giapponesi, dando la possibilità di scrivere in romaji, hiragana, katakana oppure di disegnare direttamente sullo schermo il kanji o kana che vi interessa cercare. E' possibile la ricerca tramite radicali, in modo da poter trovare kanji composti da altri kanji più semplici (i radicali appunto).
2) wwwJDic: e' una interfaccia al sito wwwJDic il quale come kotoba è permette di ricercare nei dizionari del progetto JMdict. La differenza sostanziale sta nel fatto cotoba viene installato totalmente in locale dunque non è necessaria la connessione ad internet ed è dunque tutto gratis. Dunque se non volete pagare soldini vi consiglio di usare kotoba.
3) Shin-Kanji Lite: è una applicazione che permette lo studio dei kanji tramite delle flash card. Contiene un database di circa 7000 kanji. Per ogni ideogramma si la pronuncia, il significato ed il modo in cui si disegna mostrato tramite una animazione (davvero utile). Una cosa molto utile sta nel fatto che i kanji posso esere cercati in base a delle categorie, come ad esempio il livello di JLPT (da 1 a 4). Si può ad esempio pensare di cercare solo kanji rappresentanti dei numeri oppure quelli per rappresentare dei numeri ordinali (una delle cose più complicate della lingua Giapponese).
Beh...sappiate che dunque l' iphone non è solo un oggettino per fighetti ma può essere davvero estremamente utile.

Shinkanji 2.0 for the iphone

Last week I bought the iPhone, and one of the reasons why I chose it is the fact that there many useful free apllication to study the Japanese language. In my cae I found vary useful the application with flashcards for the study of kanjis. A flash card is card (with similar size of a poker card) showing a kanji, together with it's meaning, pronunciation and the way it must be drawn. A good collection of flash cards for japanese kanjis come from white-rabbit-press and the version with the kanji for the JPTL4 costs around 22€. Following I will show the application I am using in the iphone.
1) Kotoba: is a multilingual Japanese dictionary for iPhone and iPod touch. The dictionary files are embedded in the application so that the dictionary service is avaliable at all times with no additional cost.
Kotoba! was created using the amazing JMdict files from the Electronic Dictionary Research and development group based on the work of Jim Breen on the EDICT project. Use Japanese keyboard to lookup words in kana/kanji. It's also possible to use the traditional Chinese character recognition to draw directly on the iphone screen the kanji you want to lookup.
2) wwwJDic: is an interface to access the web dictionary wwwJDic from the iphone. This application is sligtly similar to Kotoba with the difference that you need to acces the internet to use it and then you are probably going to pay for using it.
3) Shin-Kanji Lite: is an application to study kanjis by using flash cards on the iphone screen. It features a database of more than 7000 kanjis and it uses very useful animations to show how given kanji must be drawn. Moreover the kanjis are organized in different categories (for example the four JPLT levels) which makes straightforward the browsing of the database.

Well...this was a prove of how the iPhone is not just a fashion toy...

iPhone 3G in Italia e Giappone

L' 11 di Luglio il nuovo telefono di casa Apple verrà messo in vendita in molti paesi del mondo, tra i quali vi sono anche l' Italia ed il Giappone.
In Italia le compagnie che lo venderanno saranno Vodaphone e TIM, mentre in Giappone, lo smartphone sarà offerto dalla Softbank. Come ci si aspettava in Italia i piani di abbonamento sono vergognosi, e soprattutto non comprendono una tariffa flat per i dati che permetta di usare lo smartphone in tutte le su funzionalità.
In questo post mostrerò le offerte dell' operatore Giapponese e di quelli Italiani e sottolineo subito che non sarà fatta una convesione da yen ad euro, ma si darà un valore indicativo che rispecchi il potere d' acquisto della somma in questione. Ad esempio, ricordiamo che 100 Yen in Giappone hanno orientativamente lo stesso potere di acquisto di 1 € in Italia. Dunque 1000 Yen corrisponderanno più meno a 10 €.
Iniziamo:

SoftBank:
Prezzo abbonamento mensile: 7.298 Yen (circa 70€) comprensivo di interent illimitato (perfetto per iPhone), email illimitate (in Giappone le email sostituiscono gli sms), chiamate illimitate verso numeri softbank dalle 1:00 alle 21:00.
Prezzo Iphone: 23.040 Yen (circa 200 €, con il cambio viene 140 €)

Vodaphone Italia:
Prezzo abbonamento mensile: varia da un minimo di 59€ ad un massimo di 99€ ed in ogni caso non si ha mai tariffa flat per i dati.
Prezzo iPhone: varia da un minimo di 49€ ad un massimo di 269€ a seconda del piano di abbonamento scelto.
Prezzo iPhone senza abbonamento: 499€ per la vesione 8GB e 569€ per la versione 16GB.

TIM:
Prezzo abbonamento mensile: varia da un minimo di 30€ ad un massimo di 200€ e nel caso migliore il traffico dati massimo e di 5GB (comunque non è una flat).
Prezzo iPhone: varia da un minimo di 0€ ad un massimo di 269€ a seconda del piano di abbonamento scelto.
Prezzo iPhone senza abbonamento: non ancora disponibile.

A questo punto sta a voi tirare le somme, anche se risulta palese come in Italia si tenti sempri di rubare dei soldi ai consumatori.

Iphone 3G in Italy and Japan

The 11th of July the new smatpone from Apple will be available for Italian and Japanese users too. In Italy the careers that will sell the iPhone will be Vodaphone and TIM, while in Japan the smartphone will offered by Softbank.
As we expected, in Italy there will be no good plan that will let use the iPhone by getting advantage from all it's features. For example Italian careers will not offer a flat plan for data.
In this post I willsummary the offers from Softbank, Vodaphone Italy and TIM and I want to underline that I will not consider the conversion from Euro to Yen, while I will consider the real value of the amount I will show. For example I will consider that with 100 Yen in Japan, you can almost same things that you could by with 1 € in Italy. So, for example 2000 Yen will be roughly 200 €.

I start then:

Softbank Japan:
Monthly plan price: 7.298 Yen (almost 70€) including flat data plan (perfect for iPhone), illimited email and free calls to Softbank phones from 1:00 am to 21:00 pm.
iPhone price: 23.040 Yen (almost 200€, while cosidering the change from euro to Yen it would be 140€)

Vodaphone Italy:
Monthly plan price: it goes from 59€ to 99€ and anyway the monthly download amount is limited to 600 megabytes.
iPhone price: the price of the phone without any monthly plan is 499€ for the 8GB version and 569€ or the 16GB version.

TIM:
Monthly plan price: it goes from 30€ to 200€ and the monthly download amount in the most expensive plan is of 5 gigabytes.
iPhone price: the price of the phone without any monthly plan goes from a minimum of 0€ to a maximum price of 269€.

At this point I think you understood that Italian companies simply try to steal money to the costumers...
