Danimarca: un anno dopo

Sembra ieri ma in realtà è già passato un anno da quando sono arrivato in Danimarca ed è tempo di dare delle valutazioni. Chiarisco subito che molto di quello che dirò è assolutamente personale, e relativo alla mia ancora corta esperienza in terra danese.
Ma come si fa a valutare un posto, una cultura con tutto quello che la circonda? Beh, in verità non credo sia possibile ma cercherò di dare dei punteggi a delle cose che si valutano (io lo faccio) in tutti i posti del mondo in cui si possa andare.

A quanto pare il punteggio medio risulta essere molto alto. Voglio ricordare che i punteggi sono basati completamente su mie esperienze personali in Danimarca ed in altri paesi e non si basano su statistiche reali. Per quanto riguarda dei ranking basati su numeri e statiche volevo segnalare come Copenaghen risulta essere all'undicesimo posto tra le città più vivibili, ma personalmente credo che il valore che si debba dare a queste statistiche sia molto relativo, e che la qualità della vita non si basi solo numeri ma anche dalla personale soddisfazione che si può avere vivendo in un posto piuttosto che in un altro.

Denmark: one year later

Looks like yesterday but one year has already passed since I started living in Denmark, and for that reason I thought is time to give some evaluation. I want to make clear that my evaluation it completely personal and solely based on my, still very short, experience in Denmark.
But how would you evaluate a place, a culture and everything that surrounds it? Well, actually I do not think is possible mainly because, again most of the evaluation are biased from the personal experience and native culture of each person. I will anyway try to give some score to things that people care about (at least I do) when moving from a place (city, country etc.) to another.

Looks like the average score is pretty good. I want you to recall again that these "scores" are based solely on my personal experience and are not based on existing real statistics.
Talking about ranking based on statistics, Copenhagen got the 11th position among the most livable cities in the world. I understand those people work a lot for making those statistics but still I think the best way for deciding which place is the best to live is a very personal thing and cannot be chosen only by means of statistics.

Rinnovo passaporto non voluto

Lo scorso mese sono andato in Giappone, e tutto è andato bene a parte una disavventura all'aeroporto di Amsterdam. Mentre mi trovavo all'aeroporto di Amsterdam pronto a salire sull'aereo per Narita, mi rendo conto che il mio passaporto si è aperto in due parti. Inizialmente pensai fosse stato il tipo al controllo passaporti a romperlo, ad ogni modo, dato che nessuno lo aveva controllato, io feci notare che sarebbe stato meglio non partire visto che con quel passaporto non mi avrebbero permesso di entrare in Giappone. Dopo problemi con la polizia per uscire dall'aeroporto, arrivato in albergo mi accorgo che in realtà la colpa non era stata dello staff dell'aeroporto ma semplicemente della zecca dello stato della repubblica Italiana. Per chiudere il discorso sul viaggio, alla fine sono riuscito ad avere un nuovo passaporto in meno di 24 ore, grazie alla professionalità delle persone che lavorano al consolato italiano ad Amsterdam, sono partito dunque per Narita con un giorno di ritardo. E' stato disarmante scoprire come la zecca dello stato abbia rilasciato durante il 2007 dei passaporti elettronici difettosi che si rompono in due parti quanto meno te lo aspetti. Ora cercate di immaginare cosa sarebbe successo piuttosto che in Olanda mi fossi trovato in un paese non parte della EU. Immaginate cosa possa succedere se vi si dovesse rompere il passaporto mentre siete negli Stati Uniti o in Cina. Beh spero per voi che non dobbiate mai scoprirlo. Ad ogni modo, per maggiori informazioni su questa partita di passaporti difettosi vi rimando a questo link, e se siete italiani date sempre una controllata al passaporto prima di partire, o meglio, prima di prenotare il volo. Spero non vi succeda quello che è successo a me, che per l'ennesima volta mi sono vergognato dell'incompetenza italiana.

Unwanted new passport

Last month I went to Japan and the trip was ok apart from a problem with my passport. In Amsterdam my passport broke in two pieces even thought it was perfect just few seconds before. To summarize about the trip, I could get a new passport in few hours thanks to the Italian consulate in Amsterdam, and I could fly to Japan the day after I was supposed to fly.
But how can a passport brake? At first I thought the guy checking the passports broke it but in the evening, searching on the internet, I realized that was simply italy's fault. In 2007 Italy produced thousands of defected passports that randomly brake in two parts usually while you are traveling (which is when you are supposed to use it). To know more about how it happens you can go to this link (sorry it is only in Italian).
I was lucky that I was in a EU country and that the people at the Italian consulate in Amsterdam were very professional and helpful, so that I could get a new passport in such a short time (around 14 hours). But try to imagine how many problems if your passport breaks in a non-EU country, think about if it happens in US or China. Seriously I don't even want to imagine how it would be. I simply suggest the Italians that got their passport in 2007, to always check their passport before they leave their country, or better, before they book a flight to a non-EU country.

要りませんでした新しいパスポート

先月旅行で日本に行きましたけどパスポートの問題出ました。アムステルダムの飛行場で私のパスポートを割れました。沢山もんだい出ましたけど新しいパスポーポ後一日に貰いました。でもどうやってパスポートを割れますか。それは殆ど出来ませんですけど２００７でイタリアはいっぱい悪いパスポートを作りました。やっぱり私のパスポートを悪いでした。
イタリア人だったらとEUの外に行きたればいつもあなたのパスポートちゃんとチェックして下さい。

Da quando sono tornato in Sicilia continua a fare tutti i giorni un vento da tempesta rendendo impossibile andare al mare. Da ieri, per fortuna, sembra che la situazione si sia un po' stabilizzata e che il vento abbia smesso di soffiare, sperando che duri almeno fino a Ferragosto.
Comunque, anche se non c'entra niente, metto questo video nel quale Antonio Albanese, nei panni del suo personaggio Alex Drastico recita una poesia "du zu Affiu" nella quale si canta del vento e del monte.

Since I came back to Sicily everyday is has been windy and there was no way to go to the beach. Sinece yesterday looks like the situation has changed and hopefully it will be sunny until the Ferragosto Day.

Albergo Capsula

Una delle cose che si trovano praticamente solo in Giappone sono gli hotel capsula. Io ci sono stato nei primi due giorni in cui sono stato ad Osaka. In questi particolarissimi alberghi non ci sono delle stanze, ma dei letti, nemmeno grandi, organizzati ad alveare. Quando si entra si ha l' impressione di stare in un film di fantascienza e devo anche dire che fa un poco di impressione.
A discapito delle loro dimensioni al loro interno si ha quasi tutto (corrente elettrica, radio e persino il televisore a scomparsa ). Questi posti sono riservati a soli uomini ed il costo per restare una notte è relativamente basso. Nel mio caso ho pagato circa 2000Yen (circa 15 euro) per notte ed il costo includeva anche l' utilizzo delle saune che si trovavano all' interno del Hotel. Uno degli effetti collaterali nel mio caso è stato il fatto che al risveglio mi sono messo un pò di paura perché mi trovavo appunto in una capsula. I clienti principali sono i manager ed i salary-man, ma anche giovani e stranieri che cercano semplicemente un posto dove pernottare. Nel caso doveste capitare in Giappone vi consiglio (mi rivolgo solo agli uomini) di provare il capsule-hotel almeno per una notte.

Capsule Hotel

One thing which I am pretty sure is possible to find only in Japan are the capsule hotel. I stayed in a capsule hotel for the first two days I stayed in Osaka. In these very original hotels there are no roms but little capsule (in which only one man can fit) organized same as beehive. When you enter the main room I must admit I was a little impressed (in bad way) and I felt like I was in a Sci-fi movie.
Despite the small dimensions, inside each capsule there is almost everything (energy plug, radio, alarm, and also a tv). The capsule hotel are usually only for men and the main customers are managers and salary-man, but also young people and tourists that are just looking for a place in which they can sleep. Capsule Hotel are relatively cheap and in my case, I payed around 2000 Yen and the fee was including the use of the sauna and bath that where inside the hotel.
I must admit that when I woke up I was a little scared because I could not understand where I was and...well, because I was in capsule. In case you come to Japan (and you are male), I suggest you to have the experience of sleeping in a capsule hotel at least for one night.

カプセルホテルはホテルの種類です、殆ど日本だけあります。ゴルデンウィークの時二日大阪でカプセルホテルで泊りました。そのホテルの中に部屋がありませんけどカプセルのベッドあります。その部屋は蜂の巣みたいだから自分は科学映画の中に感じ取りました
カプセル狭いですけどの中にたくさん便利な事があります「ラジオとか電気プラグとかテレビ」。カプセルホテルのお客さんはサラリーマンとか観光客とか大学生です、女の人のお客さんが出来ません。一日滞在は二千円しましたそしてその所大阪駅の近くですだから安かった。
朝で起きたけど初めて少し怖かっただってカプセルが本当に狭いですけどそろそろ大丈夫だった。カプセルホテルは便利なと安いのホテルですそして時々面白いもと思います。
何時か日本に来ればカプセルホテルで泊って見てください

Golden Week - Nagoia「名古屋」

La terza città che ho visitato durante la Golden Week è stata Nagoia. Questa città è il capoluogo della prefettura di Aichi ed è la quarta città più grande del Giappone.
A Nagoya sono andato a visitare un mio amico Giapponese e dunque sono stato a casa sua con la sua famiglia. La casa era davvero bella, era stata costruita circa 90 anni fa e dunque è una tradizionale casa Giapponese, e comprendeva ovviamente anche un grande giardino in stile Giapponese.
Purtroppo (come è successo anche ad Hiroshima) mentre mi trovavo a Nagoia pioveva devvero tanto e dunque non potuto vedere tante cose. Siamo comunque andati a visitare il il castello di Nagoya, costruito nel 1612 e restaurato nel 1959. E' stata una esperienza molto bella non solo per i posti che ho visto ma anche per le persone che ho conosciuto, tra le quali i componenti la famiglia del mio amico. Sono stati gentilissimi e mi hanno sempre fatto sentire a casa.
A Nagoia ho inoltre mangiato benissimo, ed ho avuto modo di mangiare mizonikomiudon, che viene fatto solo a Nagoia, ma su questo argormento scriverò un piccolo post più avanti.

Golden Week - Nagoya「名古屋」

The 3rd city I visited during the Golden Week was Nagoya. It is the main city in the Aichi prefecture and the 4th biggest city in Japan. I went there to visit one of my Japanese friends and so I stayed at his place with his family during my stay in Nagoya. His family house was really pretty, it has been built around 90 years ago, it is a typical Japanese house and also has a Japanese style garden.
Same as when I went to Hiroshima, it was raining really hard and so I could not see so many things but I still wanted to go to see the Nagoya castle. The castle has been built in 1612 and restructured in 1956. Despite the rain the trip was very nice both because of the places I seen and the people I known. My friend's family was really nice to me and while I at their place I always felt at home.
In Nagoya I also had the chance to eat the mizonikoudon which is cooked only in Nagoya and it's really tasty, but I will wright another post about it later.

ゴルデンウィーク　「名古屋」

名古屋は日本の三番の大きいの町です。日本で名古屋市は愛知県であります。あの町へ私の日本人の友達を会いに来ました。友達の家で止まりましたと彼の家族を会いました、あの家本当に古かったくてきれいなかった。あの家は九十年前ぐらい建ちました。
あの時でたくさん雨を降っていましただから少しの所に行ったことがありました。ざんえんけど名古屋城に行った。
あの建物は１６１２で建ちましたと１９５６で繕いましたけどまだきれいなの建物です。
名古屋で本当に楽しかっただってたくん優しいの人会いましたと美味しいの食べ物食べました。
名古屋で味噌煮込み饂飩食べて見ましたけど後でこの事に一つのポスト書きます

Golden Week: [広島]

Dopo un paio di giorni ad Osaka mi spostato verso Hiroshima. Sono partito la mattina del 3 Maggio per raggiungere la stazione Hiroshima verso le quattro del pomeriggio. Purtroppo la tappa di Hiroshima non è stata molto felice, principalmente a causa del brutto tempo. A causa del brutto tempo infatti non sono riuscito ad andare a Miyajima, che è una delle tappe più importanti per chi si reca ad Hiroshima.
Sono comunque andato al museo riguardante il bombardamento atomico e a vedere la statua dedicata a Sadako Sasaki, la bimba che è morta di Leucemia qualche anno dopo l' esplosione a causa dell' effetto delle radiazioni. La bambina credendo alla leggenda Giapponese secondo la quale se si fanno 1000 origami di ucceli, alla persona che li ha fatti viene esaudito un desiderio, ha continuato a fare degli origami fino alla sua morte.
Sono anche riuscito a mangiare l' Okonomiyaki di Hiroshima che differenza di quello di Osaka contiene anche degli spaghetti di soia ed al suo interno vi può essere anche carne e pesce.
Per quanto riguarda Miyajima, l' ho potuta vedere solo da lontano perché quando sono arrivato giusto per prendere il battello che porta all' isola, la pioggia è aumentata di molto ed allora ho deciso di rinunciare.

Golden Week: [広島]

After a couple of days in Osaka I moved to Hiroshima. I got into the bus to Hiroshira around 7 in the morning and I got in Hiroshima around 4pm. I must say that the trip was not perfect beause of the terrible weather. I staied almost two days and I could see many things despite the short time. I seen the "Atomic Dome" museum, which is about the atomic bombing in Hiroshima. I also went seen the statue of Sadako Sasaki. Sasaki was a girl who died of leucemy because of the effect of the atomic bomb radiations. Her story is famous because the little girl, believing on a Japanese legend which states that if you make 1000 paper crane then one of your desires will become true. The girl wanted to get better from her sickness so she started making paper cranes while she was ospitalized, and she continued making it until her dead. The statue is showing a little girl holding a big paper crane in her hands.
About Miyajima, I seen it only from far because when I reacher the boat that takes to the highland, it started raining very strong and so I decided not to go.
I also had the chance to eat the Hiroshima Okonomiyaki which is different from the Osaka one, even if I must admit that both are very delicious.

Golden Week - Osaka [大阪]

La sera del primo di Maggio, dopo avere preparato le valigie, decidiamo di cenare prima di prendere il Treno per Shinjuku. Il viaggio non è iniziato nel migliore dei modi, visto che ci siamo accorti quando eravamo vicini a Shinjuku che l' autobus per Osaka partiva in realtà da Yokohama.
Bene...niente panico, cambiamo subito treno e ci dirigiamo verso Yokohama. Siamo riusciti ad arrivare giusto in tempo per l' inizio del check in. Siamo partiti verso mezzanotte da Yokohama ed a mezzogiorno del giorno sucessivo eravamo ancora a Kioto ed allora abbiamo deciso scendere dall' autobus e prendere il treno per Osaka. Siamo dunque arrivati ad Osaka verso l' 13:00 del 2 Maggio quando l' arrivo ad Osaka era previsto per le 7 di mattina. La causa è semplice da intuire, era il fine settimana, ma soprattutto era l' inizio della golden week, dunque le autostrade erano eccessimante affollate.
Arrivati ad Osaka abbiamo preso un taxi che ci ha portato al capsule hotel nel quale abbiamo dormito per le prime due notti. Il quartire dove si trovava il capsule hotel era molto vicino alla stazione centrale di Osaka ed anche molto vivace e movimentato. Quando si arriva ad Osaka ci si rende subito conto che la gente é generalmente più rilassata rispetto alla gente di Tokio, anche se bisogna ammettere che Osaka è anch' essa molto movimentata e frenetica.
Le due sere in cui sono stato ad Osaka siamo andati in giro per le aree vicine ad Osaka. Siamo andati ad esempio a Dotonbori e Namba, famosi per i negozi di Takoyaki e credo anche per i ristoranti in cui servono il fugu (pesce palla). Una delle cose di cui mi vergogno è di non essere stato al castello di Osaka, non sono potuto andare per una serie di circostanze tra le quali il mio viaggio ad Hiroshima.
La gente ad Osaka è generalmente più amichevole e sorridente rispetto a Tokio, ma in realtà credo che questa sia una caratteristica che accomuna tutta la gente del Kanto. Riguardo al capsule hotel è stato abbastanza comodo, ma scriverò comunque un post apposta su questo argomento più avanti.

Golden Week - Osaka [大阪]

The night of May the first, after we prepared everything we needed for the trip, we went to have dinner. After we catched the train to go Shinjuku, but when we where close to Shinjuku we realized that the bus station where we had to go was in Yokohama and not in Shinjuku. Well, I tried to be calm and so we soon changed the train and took the one directed to Yokohama. In the end we arrived just in time for the check in. We left Yokohama around midnight and at noon we were still in Kyoto. The motorway was really busy because of the golden week, and so we decided to get off of the bus in Kyoto and go to Osaka by train. The bus was supposed to arrive in Osaka at 7am but we arrived in Osaka around 1pm.
Once we arrived in Osaka we soon took a taxi to go the capsule hotel we previously booked. The place was very close to the station and quite busy, with lots of shops, karaoke and other  entertainement places. In Osaka I soon noticed how the people looks more relaxed and friendly even though Osaka itself is quite busy.
The two nights I staied in Osaka I went to see the places close to the main city. I went to Dotonbori and Namba, famous for the Takoyaki shop and for the restaurants in which you can eat Fugo (Ball Fish). I really regret that I did not visit Osaka castle but because of a series of circumstances I could not do it.
One thing I would like to remark is that Osaka people, and more in general, the people from Kanto, looks more relaxed, open and friendly compared to the busy people living in Tokyo. About the capsule hotel...well it was comfortable enough but I will talk about it later.

Golden Week (ゴールデンウィーク) [Riassunto]

Alla fine sono tornato dalle mie vacanze e tristemente si ritorna a lavoro. La golden week (ゴールデンウィーク) è un periodo dell' anno, compreso tra la fine di Aprile e l' inizio di Maggio, nel quale cadono un serie feste nazionali Giapponesi e dunque si ha la possibilità di avere un periodo di vacanza relativamente lungo.
Nel mio caso ho avuto circa dieci di ferie, utilizzando soltanto uno dei miei quindici giorni di ferie pagate. Durante la golden week ho visitato Osaka (大阪), Hiroshima (広島) e Nagoya (名古屋). La mappa da una idea del percorso e dei mezzi che ho utilizzato per viaggire. A parte la il traffico in autostrada ed il fatto che tutti gli alberghi fossero al completo (come al solito non mi sono prodigato di prenotare almeno due mesi prima), devo dire che è stato davvero un bel periodo di vacanza.
In seguito scriverò dei post in cui parlerò singolarmente dei posti che ho visitato delle cose che ho mangiato e delle persone che ho incontrato.
Il primo giorno di lavoro dopo il ritorno (Venerdì) è stato davvero duro, ma adesso nella mia scrivania ho molte cose che mi ricordano la mia vacanza e che mi danno possibilità di pensare ad altri posti che vorrei visitare.

Golden Week (ゴールデンウィーク)

Finally I had to go back to work after the relaxing period I had for dunring the Golden Week's holidays. The Golden Week (ゴールデンウィーク) is a period of the year, between the end of April and the start of May, in which falls many Japanese national holidays and for that reason people have the chance to have a relatively long period of consecutive holidays.
In my case I had around 10 days of holidays (the longest should be around 15 days) using only one of 15 paied holidays. During the trip I visited Osaka (大阪), Hiroshima (広島) e Nagoya (名古屋).The map I made gives an idea of the trip and how did I moved between the places I visited. Despite the very busy highway and the fact that everywhere was full of people, it was a very nice trip.
Later I write specific posts about the places I visited, the things I seen, the food I ate and the people I met. The first the at work after the holidays (Friday, May the 8th) was really hard, but now my desk is full of things that remember me the nice trip I had and let thing about new places I would like to visit in the holiday period (obviously before the next golden week).

Le terme di Hakone (箱根町)

Hakone è un paesino circondato dalle montagne nella prefettura di Kanagawa. Principalmente la sua popolarità è dovuta alle tantissime terme naturali che vi si possono trovare, grazie alla vicinanza del monte Fuji. Hakone comprende anche un lago circodato dalle montagne ed i paesaggi che si riescono apprezzare sono spettacolari. Se a questa cartolina aggiungete il monte Fuji coperto dalla neve avete il ritratto completo.

Lo scorso Venerdì sono andato andato ad Hakone per visitare una delle tante onsen, e con me sono anche venuti Andrea, Jenny ed altri amici Giapponesi. L' unica nota negativa è stato il fatto che siamo arrivati lì nel tardo pomeriggio e dunque non abbiamo potuto apprezzare i panorami mozzafiato. Le terme sono state a dir poco fantastiche ed abbastanza economiche. Conto di tornarci al più presto, ma questa vorrei rimanerci lmeno un fine settimana intero.

The Hakone Onsens

Hakone is a small town surrounded by mountains in the Kanagawa prefecture. It famous mainly for the high number of hotsprings due to the nearby mount Fuji. The panorama you can appreciate from there are just wonderful and is not rare to find an onsen whith nice views of the Fuji mount.
Last Friday I went to hakone with Andrea, Jenny and other Japanese friends to visit an onsen, and the only bad thing was that we got there in the late afternoon so we could not appreate the landscapes. The onsen was just wonderful and cheap too. I am planning to go there again as soon as possible and this time I would like to stay an entire week end.

Domenica a Kamakura

La scorsa Domenica sono stato a Kamakura. Kamakura è una città nella prefettura di Kanagawa famosa per i suoi templi, ma soprattutto per la statua del Budda gigante (Daibutsu [大仏]), che è inoltre il più grande in Giappone. Sono partito da Sagami-Oono (a 15 minuti di Treno da Atsugi) ed abbiamo raggiunto Kamakura circa dopo un' ora di treno. Abbiamo visitato un tempio all' interno di un parco con delle koi (carpe Giapponesi) a dir poco giganti, e dopo avere mangiato tempura e soba per pranzo, ci siamo avviati per visitare il grande budda. Nel giorno in cui siamo andati noi c' era davvero tantissima gente e molti bambini che indossavano il kimono (a Kamakura ogni anno c' è una festa per tutti i bimbi di 3 e 5 anni) ma alla fine siamo riusciti a raggiungere il Daibutsu. Beh...devo dire che mi è piaciuto, ma forse mi aspettavo qualcosa di più, visto che in Giappone, il Daibutsu è segnalato come un a delle cose da vedere assolutamente. Fino ad ora niente riesce a superare la bellezza di Kioto e Nikko.

Sunday in Kamakura

Last Sunday I went to Kamakura (鎌倉). Kamakura is a city in the Kanagawa prefecture and it is famous for it's temples and because it was also the capital of Japan during the Kamakura period. One of the main Attractions in Kamakura is the big Budda Statue (Daibutsu [だいぶつ]), whic is the biggest in Japan. It took around one hour and half to reach Kamakura from Atsugi. One's arrived we first visited a temple and then we had to have tempra and soba for lunch. After lunch we went to see the Daibutsu, and on the way to the big budda there were many people and many kids wearing kimono. In Kamakura there is a celebration every year for kids 3 and 5 years old, and that justifies the kids wearing kimono. Well, when I seen the budda I was not so excited, actually I thought it would be bigger, also because in Japan every people suggest to go to visit the Daibutsu and maybe for that reason my expetions about it were high.
By the way, it was a very nice day, and Kamakura is very pretty place, but never like Kyoto and Nikko.

さよならタイム (sayonara time)

Il giorno della partenza è sempre più vicino ed è ovviamente il momento di salute amici e persone care.
Questo fine settimana, ho dovuto salutare tante persone, e certe volte è stato triste anche perché non so quando le rivedrò di nuovo.
Il Giovedì scorso ho salutato, anche se con lui ci rivedremo il prossimo Natale visto che lui verrà a trovarmi in Giappone. Il Venerdì ho Salutato Enrico (Il mio professore) ed Angela (la ricercatrice che mi seguito durante il lavoro di tesi), ed ho inoltre finito il lavoro che mia avevano chiesto di fare prima della partenza.
Sempre Venerdì ho saluta la mia amica Tejal, ed in quel caso sapevano che rivederci sarà ancora più difficile, visto che Domenica lei parte per la Danimarca.
Questa domani vado a trovare mia sorella e mio cognato e poco prima di Martedì partirò per Milano dove saluterò altri amici.
Beh...ora vado a finire la preparazione della valigia...

Sayonara Time

The day I will leave to Japan is always closer and obviously it's also time so say ciao to my good friends.
In these days I had to say sayonara to many people and in some case it was very sad because we do not know when we will have the chance to meet again.
On Thuesday I said ciao to Arge, but in that case it's ok somehow because he will come to visit me in Japan in the end of December. On Friday I met Enrico (my Professor) and Angela, we went out to for a drink, and I am also happy because I could finish the work they wantem to do before I leave to Japan. Still on Friday I met my Indian friend Tejal, and in that case was more sad to say goodbye because she is going to work in Denmark, so we really do not know when we will have the chance to meet again.
Tomorrow I will visit my sister and my brother in law, and before Tuesday I will go to Milan to meet some other friend.
Well...now I go to finish preparing my suitecase...

Sono quasi pronto per partire...

Oggi ho comprato l' assicurazione sanitaria che mi coprirà durante il mio anno in Giappone. Adesso non mi resta che impacchettare le ultime cose prima di essere pronto per partire.
Beh, oggi non avrò il tempo di impacchettare niente, al contrario, forse spacchetterò qualcosa. Il fine settimana sono stato a Ravenna a visitare degli amici prima di partire, e come al solito è stato davvero molto bello e rilassante.
I giorni passano velocemente e prima che io me ne potrò rendere conto sarò già sul volo che mi porterà sulla terra del sol levante.

Almost ready...

Today I bought the health ensurance that will cover any medical expences (I hope I will never use it...) while I will live in Japan. Now I only have to pack last few things and then I will be ready to leave.
Well, today I will not have time for packing, actually I think I will do some unpacking :-) instead of packing. Last weekend I went to Ravenna to visit some friend before I leave, and as usual it was very nice and relaxing.
Days are passing very fast and I will so be on plane that will take me to land of the rising sun.

Permesso Internazionale Di Guida

Oggi ho ottenuto la patente internazionale dalla motorizzazione civile di Trento. Quando sono arrivato lì, al momento del ritiro ho puntualizzato di nuovo: "mi avete fatto la patente che mi permette di guidare in Giappone vero?". Manco a dirlo...avevano sbagliato la patente, anche se io lo avevo specificato nel modulo per di richiesta.
Ho dovuto dunque aspetta circa 10 minuti (devo dire che sono efficienti) affinché mi facessero un' altra patente modello "Ginevra 1949" (quello valido per il Giappone). Per chi non lo sapesse, esistono il modello "Ginevra 1949" ed il modello "Vienna 1968". La differenza principale tra le due sta nel fatto che il modello "Ginevra" ha la durata di un solo anno, mentre quello "Vienna" dura 10 anni. Ovviamente cambiano anche i paesi nei quali sono validi i due modelli di patente.
Per fare la patente internazionale in Italia sono necessari:
• 1 marca da bollo di 14,63€
• 2 versamenti sul conto corrente della motorizzazione civile, (1 da 9€ ed 1 da 14€ circa)
• 1 fototessera
• 1 fotocopia della patente di guida (quella Europea) in corso di validità
• La patente di guida originale in corso di validità

E' anche possibile fare la patente direttamente in Giappone recandosi in qualche consolato Italiano o all' ambasciata Italiana a Tokio. il sito della motorizzazione Giapponese da inoltre molti dettagli su come ottenere la patente di guida per gli stranieri in Giappone.

Non sono sicurò se avrò l' occasione di guidare in Giappone, ma se ne dovessi avere l' opportunità la cosa non mi dispiacerebbe affatto, dunque meglio essere a posto con la legge.

International Driving Licence

Today I got the international driving license, so that I will be able to drive car in Japan if I will have the chance. Well, when I arrived to the "motorizzazione civile" to get the license I noticed they mistook the model of licence. so I had to wait (almost 15 minutes) until they made a new license that would valid to drive in Japan.
There are two versions of international driving license:
• "Vienna 1968" version which is valid for 10 years and do not allow to drive in Japan.
• "Ginevra 1949" version which is valid only for 1 year and it is valid to drive in Japan.
As you can easily guess, at first they gave me the "Vienna 1968" version which would be useless to me.
The driving license is actually just a document containing the translations of my Italian driving licence in many languages. My driving license includes Japanese, Greek, Duch, German, Spanish, English, Arab and French language translations. So I can use it in Japan, and I guess also in some African country, Latino America and some other conutry (I guess Vietnam too, since it includes French language translation).
It would be also possible take the driving license directly in Japan by going to an Italian consulate or at the Italian embassy in Tokyo. The Japanese Automobile Federation (JAF) prepared a page in Italian language which explains what to do to get the driving permission I am talking about.

I actually do not know if I will have the chance to drive in Japan, but if I would have the chance I would be happy to drive and so it's better to be ok with Japanese laws.

Volo prenotato!!!!

Oggi finalmente sono riuscito a prenotare il volo per Narita. Si parte da Milano Linate per raggiungere l' aeroporto di Heathrow a Londra. Dopo lo scalo, di soltanto 40 minuti, si parte per Narita. La compagnia, come potete facilmente immaginare, è la British Airways.
Il costo del biglietto è stato ragionevole, anche se non mi interessa più di tanto visto che il costo dello stesso mi sarà rimborsato dopo il primo mese di lavoro.
All' arrivo a Narita dovrò recarmi ad Atsugi (Hon-Atsugi), seguendo una percorso che specificherò più avanti, dove incontrerò la coordinatrige del progetto di interniship della Asahi KASEI, che probabilmente mi accompagnerà nel posto in cui abiterò ed in seguito, ad incontrare i miei futuri colleghi di lavoro.
Ora non mi resta che comprare l' assicurazione sanitaria, finire il trasloco dal mio attuale appartamento, e volare verso il paese del sol levante.

Booked!!!!

Today I finally booked the air ticket to fly to Narita. I will leave from Milano Linate airport to reach the Heathrow airport in London. From the main English airport I will fly to Narita just after a 40 minutes stop. As you can easily guess, I will fly with British Airways (obviously I did not wanted to use Alitalia now).
When I will arrive in Narita, I will directly go to Hon-Atsugi, where I will meet the internship coordinator which will probably take me to the new place I will live and then to meet my future colleghes.
Now I only have to buy health insurance, finish packing staff in my apartment, and then fly to the land of  the rising sun...

what else...I am genki-kun :-)

Preparazione alla partenza dalla Sicilia

Domani riparto per Trento e sto iniziando a preparare i bagagli. Gli ultimi tre giorni sono stati i migliori dei 15 giorni passati in Sicilia. Dei miei vecchi amici sono venuti a trovarmi questo fine settimana, e sopratutto sono riuscito ad andare al mare.
Sabato scorso sono andato a trovare Giovanni, un mio vecchio compagno di liceo. Ha già due figli ed è molto bello notare che tutto sommato rimane la stessa persona che avevo conosciuto circa 14 anni fa.
Domenica sono venuti a trovarmi Fabio e Patrizia. Entrambi sono dei cari amici conosciuti quando studiavo a Catania. Lei si è da poco laureata in medicina e lui sta per laurearsi in ingegneria. E' stato particolarmente bello anche perché abbiamo ricordato le cose che abbiamo combinato quando siamo andati assieme a Londra (circa 4 anni fa).
Nel fine settimana ho anche comprato due paia di scarpe che utilizzero il prossimo invero. La cosa interessante è che le ho trovate in un piccolo negozio a Palma Di Montechiaro (la città dove era il mio liceo), mentre a Licata non ho trovato niente che mi piacesse.
Ora non mi resta che comprare delle cose da mangiare e qualche bottiglia di vino da portare ad Apo e Rox.
Ora si continua la preparazione della valigia.

Preparing to leave Sicily

Tomorrow I will leave Sicily to go back to Trento and I am going to start packing. Last 3 days were the best days I had in these two weeks in Sicily. Some old nice friend came to visit me last weekend and, last but not the least, I went to the beach last 3 days.
Last Saturday I went to visit Giovanni, one my old high school friends. He already has two child and was very nice that he is almost the same person I known almost 14 years ago.
On Sunday Fabio and Patrizia came to Licata to visit me. They leave close to Piazza Armenia, which is far from Licata almost one hour and half by car. She is medic since 3 month and he will be engineer next year. We went to the beach in Licata (at "Pisciotto") and was very nice to talk and remember the nice time we had togheter while I was living in Catania. We also remembered the nice trip we had togheter in London (almost 4 years ago).
During the weekend I also bought two pairs of shoes in a small shop in Palma Di Montechiaro (the town were I went for high school), and that fun somehow because I could not find anything I liked in Licata, which is bigger than Palma Di Montechiaro.
Now I only have to buy something to eat and some bottle of wine to bring with me in Trento for Apo and Rox.
I go back preparing the suitcase...

Ritorno a casa

Domani mattina parto per raggiungere casa mia in Sicilia. Tornerò a Trento il 10 Settembre dove aspetterò di partire il Giappone.
Ho molte cose da fare in Sicilia ed ho molte persone care da incontrare prima di partire per la mia esperienza lavorativa in Giappone. Principalmente starò con i miei genitori, dato che probabilmente non li rivedrò per un anno. Sicuramente passerò qualche giorno a Catania dove incontrerò molti miei cari amici.
Inoltre comprerò delle cose che mi serviranno in Giappone, come ad esempio un buona moka della Bialetti che mi permetterà di farmi un buon caffè Italiano anche nel paese del sol levante.
Bene, ora torno a sistemare la valigia....

Going back home

Tomorrow morning I will fly to Sicily to reach my hometown. I will be back in Trento on 10th of September, where I will wait to leave to Japan in October.
I have many things to in Sicily and many people and friends to meet before I go to Japan for one year. I will spend long time with my parents and my friends, and surely I will go the beach sometimes. I will also stay some days in Catania were I will many nice old friends.
I will also buy something that I will use during my stay in Japan (for example a good "caffettiera" so that I will be able to make nice Italian café).
Well, now I go back packing...
